Abaqus refuses to launch for an unjustified lack of license

Hello

As part of my telecommuting internship, I have to use Abaqus. To do this, the company where I am doing my internship provided me with a license key, and we set up a VPN so that this license recognizes the company's network. However, sometimes I can't open the software anymore apparently because of license problems when there is nothing to indicate a network error, and the software is not used. The error messages appear extremely furtively in the black box before it closes, but I still managed to take a picture of this message, which I place in the PC. The 2nd photo corresponds to the same error message but after restarting my computer.

The problem seems to correct itself after a few hours, but I am still stuck in my work for several hours so I would have liked to know what to do if this problem occurs again.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Hello

From the message, I believe I deduce that the number of simultaneous users is limited, and that by the time you try to connect it is already reached and therefore refuses access... Until a user logs out a few hours later.

Moral: the line belongs to those who get up early.

Kind regards

PS: I specify that I absolutely do not know Abaqus and that this is only a guess on my part. Contact your company; The answer it will give you will be much more reliable.

Hello Sylk,

After talking with my tutor, it seems that I am the only one in the company to use Abaqus. So there is no risk that another user will use licenses when I want to launch the software.

It was explained to me that this is a matter of license tokens. The company has 5 of them and the launch of the interface requires 4. This is one of the reasons why I can't start a calculation from the interface.

What's strange here is that 4 tokens seem to be used while I don't have anything open...

Since this morning, it is following the launch of a calculation that the problem has reappeared. Usually, files indicating that the calculation is running in the background appear, but here, nothing. Instead, a .log file displaying the following message ("Hinge1234" is the name of the calculation I started):

Analysis initiated from SIMULIA established products

This file refreshes every 30 seconds as if it were waiting for licenses...

Restarting my pc doesn't change anything about the problem which, unlike the previous times, doesn't correct itself...

Kind regards

Anthony

Hello

192.168.1.254 is the IP address of your machine I presume? What about a different IP (let's say 4 instead of 254), and/or an automatic IP?

Kind regards

Hello

In fact I am teleworking, so to be able to use Abaqus, the company had to provide me with the license. But this license only works on the company's network. So I had to install a VPN channel. So, I can only launch Abaqus when the VPN is enabled.

My IP address without the VPN: 90.120.22.196

My IP address with the VPN: 92.156.251.50

Kind regards
