Help for duplicating part n°1 into part n°2 without link

Hello everyone.

I would like your help regarding a duplication of part, assembly and drawing.

Let me explain, I have a part n°1 in an assembly with a drawing and I would like to duplicate this part in n°2 just by modifying a length while keeping the assembly and the drawing that goes with this part n°2.

I have tried several techniques such as copying the folder and then pasting in another folder to make the modification, nothing changes the part is linked that is to say that if I change a dimension  on part n°2, part n°1 is also impacted.

I also tried to modify part n°1 and then save it as in another directory, it doesn't work either because part n°1 keeps the size of room n°2.

Do you know how to do it? But above all, did you understand  me?

Thanks in advance

Hello

You just have to open your MEP and your room on SW on your own, then you save it under your name of choice and then you rename your plan with the same name chosen.

So in the end you will have a renowned MEP and part without the link being made with your assembly...

That's it.

I hope I'm clear.

Good luck.

Be careful, the @A.R  solution only works if your functions do not contain a link to other functions related to the assembly or other parts.

These possible functions in the "context" could explain your problem.

CF a screenshot of your tree structure (tree manager) will be able to answer it and help us more.

Otherwise simple save as a copy for your room then your plan and on the plan in the SW explorer refer click to the new room open then save or pack and go (even if complicated in my opinion for a room + a plan)

Attach a screenshot of your room tree.

Or the room if no confidentiality.

Hello

This is something that is possible with the SmartProperties tool from myCADtools.

It is possible from the selection of the part in the assembly to replace the occurrence only with a new component by duplicating it with its drawing.

Here is an example of use for an active room, but the principle is idendic : https://help.visiativ.com/mycadtools/2022/fr/SmartProperties68.html

Hello

Maybe you can try this macro. I didn't have time to try it, but the guy is really very good.
