Hello, could someone tell me where I can find a paper style appearance?
I can't find anything similar in the looks of Solidworks.
Do you have a link where I can download this texture?
Thank you!

Hi @Bart,
There is this site that is interesting for textures: http://www.texturemate.com/
With a paper file: http://www.texturemate.com/category/image-galleries/paper
Thank you @Benoit! And can I use it on Solidworks like the classic appearances?
Because Solidworks skins have an extension of type *.p2m
And if I understood correctly, on the site it's *.jpeg
In Tools/Options/File Location/Texture, look at the specified folder(s). And places the uploaded image in this folder.
Otherwise you right-click on your Part/Body/Function/Face, Appearance, "Advanced" menu, Color/Image tab, "Appearance" menu, "Browse" button to retrieve your file.
:)
What I wanted to say was: Will the image file react in the same way as a texture file?
In terms of the quality of the photorealistic rendering.
To be tested...
Yes I don't get wet a lot :|
Edit: when you go to look for an appearance, you can choose another file extension, notably jpg
@Benoit, on the verge of having -# The best answer #-! =)
I'll try when I get home, thank you;)
Edit: Let's get to work guys! Are the holidays over!! :p
Check that it suits you, it's not enough to have the "best answer" and the 40 points, it must help you above all;)
Keep us informed.
If it works, it's all good for you;)
Yes, @Bart, if you find a good quality image, the rendering can be very good. Afterwards, if you find some flaws when you apply your new appearance, you click on the face where you applied it and you edit your texture, you put yourself in Advanced Mode in the Property Manager and you can adjust the way to apply your texture to your object (especially the way to project it, illumination, surface condition...).
Supported formats are: .bmp, .png and .jpeg
It is strongly recommended to find a square image (or to resize your image yourself) to avoid too much distortion because Solidworks automatically resizes rectangular images.
Otherwise, here's another site with 200 good quality paper textures:

Hello Bart, hello world
You can recover MODO texture files (Luxology software from MODO integrated into SLDW):
http://www.solidworks.com/sw/support/27685_ENU_HTML.htm
You only have access to it if you are under sldw maintenance.
Rom's
Thank you all!
That's what it looks like basically. Rendering not great, but it's only a test =)
You would have been quicker to make a real paper one and take a picture of it...
Well I'm going out...
;D
Very nice your little achievement! :)
Lol, is this what I did to reproduce it^^ :D
But hey, it's made of folded sheet metal! ;)
it's pretty all over you start origami via SW ;-))
Yes! Several small projects in mind =)
But it's not easy!
It would be easy, it wouldn't be interesting! ;)
Is it "just for fun", or do you plan to make them?
Can you give us a taste of your next creations? Please, of course! :)
It's just for fun, but I'm still going to release a piece of each.
Just to see how it looks in real life.
For my future projects, I'll send you this as soon as I can;)
Copyright of course:p ^^
