Assembly: Break External References

Hello,

In my assembly, I want to break all external references of parts and subassemblies.

Under Solid Works is it possible?

I would like to work only " locally " for a new design

Thank you and have a good day

Hello,

Before you break up, consider their lock.
You mentioned a new conception... Maybe it's also a good idea to redirect them...

To break the external references, right-click on the top-level assembly (top of the construction tree) > External references; click on all Break / Break selection.

Why not do a pack and go? Instead of breaking, redirect the refs to the copy made via pack and go just like @Silver_Surfer .

Breaking everything is risky for your already existing assembly.

A copy (of the part + assembly assembly) would seem more logical to me and much less risky.

Hello, thank you very much for your messages.

Indeed the Pack&Go is the best solution.

Thank you
Have a nice day

Thank you for your support @sbadenis...

Note: if using an SW PDM environment, prefer the tree copy rather than the Pack&Go (More efficient).
