Inventor is indeed very good.

However, be careful, this is a pro software and it is billed from 1825 euros for the LT version (which is the lighter version of the software).
For the tutorial part, cadgratuit offers very good written and video tutorials at these addresses:

Be careful, you're talking about 3D simulation... and no 3D design... the simulation part is only available from the professional version of Inventor. The features are quite limited compared to a dedicated finite element simulation software but is very user-friendly and suitable for most of what one has to do.
Otherwise you have Autodesk simulation which is a dedicated software that can be connected to Inventor.
