Proto labs Reviews (http://www.protolabs.fr/)

Hello

  http://www.protolabs.fr/

I would like to have feedback on this company that does prototyping quickly. Have any of you ever worked with them? If so, how did it go? aivs general on the presentation, the deadline, the cost, the price, etc...)

Thank you in advance.

Hello

I don't know Protolabs but I work with 2 other suppliers, so let's see.

On the other hand, I only do rapid prototyping in sintering (sometimes reinforced with fiber) and not in CNC machining.

So I'm working with Axis (http://www.axishello.com/).

- Fast, neat but a bit expensive work...

I recently tried Sculpto (http://www.sculpteo.com/fr/).

- Work a little slower (1 week all included), neat and above all, a very good price.

That's it for the quick comparison!

I'm also interested in Protolabs if anyone has worked with them before, you never know.

PS: I want to say that this is in no way advertising but just a sharing of opinions about 2 rapid prototyping suppliers among many others.

Hello

To better answer the information about the size of the part, its accuracy, proto or small series is important?

Could you elaborate?

What is your core job? (plastic part or real metal or composite part)

Where are you based (sometimes a local partner is interesting)

Kind regards

Hello

We never placed an order with Protolabs, but the quality of the response and its response seemed very serious to us. The problem was the relatively wide tolerances which were too large compared to our needs, on the other hand, the delay was great!

There is also the subsidiary protomold which provides quality prototype parts apparently in injected plastic (again pay attention to the tolerances clearly defined on their site).

Their fully automated costing system is a good concept and seems to be very well priced, when we were using it it highlighted the possible problems).

Unfortunately we have never been able to test (When we are looking for <10μm, we exceed the limits of their machine capacity...)

Sculteo, eu are specialized" in prototyping by fused deposition or stereolythography if I remember correctly. The uses of this type of part are more prototype than for CNC or plastic injection...

I hope I have made my contribution.

Thank you for your opinions. finally we will place an order for a small steel part, announced delay 4 to 5 days, the price remains correct for a 15x10x10mm part with shapes quite simple for CNC machining.

Thank you José for the 2 model suppliers you offer, but a priori they don't work with metals.

For your information I'm in the 38 near Grenoble  (I know I didn't fill in my information in my profile, I'm going to do it mea culpa)

If you are interested, I will give you our impressions of this order from Proto labs

Have a nice day

Hello

I had to deal with proto labs for information.

They sent me some documentation and a sample. Very serious and fast

To be continued

Kind regards

I'm a taker of quality feedback, I have an aluminum prototype to have made :)

Hello

For my part, Protolab is too expensive.

I go through Ideasolid (ABS prototypes) which is great.

Last week I ordered from MG2 for an overmolded plastic prototype which is very good with reasonable prices.

If necessary, I pass on contacts

That's to complete a review on ProtoLabs, they don't seem to be doing a dirty job;)
