Beug solid Works, fichier trop gros?

Hello

I have a problem with my SolidWorks pro license,

When modifying some functions (extrusion depth modification, or sketch modification)  at the time of reconstruction the software grinds and I can wait minutes but nothing happens, if I click the software no longer responds and crashes.

Is the SLDW file too large ?

There must be 5 extrusion functions, 10 material removal, fillets, chamfer, shell, and linear repetitions of functions and sketches

Hello

What version of SolidWorks?

If it is version 2015 SP4 or lower, please check if the Microsoft KB3072630 is installed from Windows Update, like this:

1.         To open Windows Update, click the Start Image du bouton Démarrerbutton.  In the search box, type Update, and then, in the list of results, click Windows Update.

2.         In the left pane, click View Update History.

If so, you should uninstall it by following this tutorial:

http://www.mycadblog.fr/problemes-solidworks-rencontres-apres-la-mise-a-jour-de-microsoft/

Or repair SolidWorks installation from the control panel > programs > SolidWorks > right-click repair

If it doesn't work, you can reset the SolidWorks settings (which you can restore later) to determine if it comes from the configuration of the workstation: http://www.lynkoa.com/tutos/3d/reinitialiser-les-parametres-solidworks

Hello.

It does it to me from time to time with large files .... or imported WWTP!

Did you try to open it before going to eat, leave it alone and see what it did when you came back? If after an hour it still hasn't reacted, you must have a problem in the file indeed.

I see that you have linear petitions. I know that this tends to slow down the machine a lot. Did you try to delete them and make your changes? It should theoretically get better

Thank you for your answers,

Solid Works version 2015, but no update KB3072630

to try as best as possible to avoid the crash, I neglect the following functions to that of my MOFIF to perform but when rebuilding everything, it can happen that the software no longer reacts and even sometimes when saving my file in *STEP

I have already left the software running for 10 min without response, so I force the crash with one click to restart it

Is it the same for the other positions?

You can reset the SolidWorks settings (which you can restore later) to determine if it comes from the configuration of the workstation, see my tutorial: http://www.lynkoa.com/tutos/3d/reinitialiser-les-parametres-solidworks

The company only has two workstations with a solid works license, but we don't work on the same projects,

But for the moment there has not yet been a problem on the second post

So does the re-initiation of the parameters change anything?

I haven't tried it yet

Sorry

Hello

It seems that the problems of slowness of solidworks 2015 sp4 due to the Windows environment  should be solved by the sp5.

Good news  solidworks  2015 sp5 is for download.

may the force be with you.

Thank you Obi Wan

I'll try that and keep you informed quickly;)

Hello

I'm using the same version and with the same kind of problems. It seems that there is a solution (if you want to stay in SP4, otherwise SP5 is definitely the best solution!), by installing a "HotFix_893815.exe".

See this discussion: http://my.solidworks.com/reader/forumthreads/101000/2015-is-a-horrible-release.

The 2015 vintage of SW has really been laborious! To see what the SP5 has in store for us!!
