Hello
I just downloaded the "complete fasteners" component library but I don't know how to use it. It appears well in Solidworks 2015, I drag and drop but at no time am I offered to choose the size of the screw (diameter and length).
Thank you for enlightening me knowing that I am a beginner.

Hello, I think there are configurations on each part. In SolidWorks 2015, simply click on the part (in the design tree or the 3D) and a menu appears above the window. The first line of this menu indicates the name of the active configuration and you just have to change the line in this menu and then confirm.

Here is an overview of the tutorials available on the site that will allow you to understand the toolbox function

I think the question is not about the toolbox but about a downloaded library.

yes but a library that you download becomes a toolbox of components
and you have to check it out for a few by your library
either you integrate it into the SW toolbosx or you create your own personal library which also becomes a toolbox
well that's my point of view as a neophyte ;-)

We have a personal library and we don't use the toolbox at all, so it can be two totally different things.

I agree 100%
better use your personal library
but nothing prevents you from making copies of the existing toolbox to create your own library
The toolbox tools that are the most penalizing for me but maybe I'm wrong is assistance for drilling
they are created via an elevation of matire via a revolution
and yet it's so simple for holes, tapping, countersinking, etc

I just wanted to notify you that he didn't mention toolbox, so your links are probably abstruse.

The poster @ yann.belucchi
will at least have something to understand
the operation of the log with its personal library and its personal toolbox or not
and to understand how to use these tools
Among others with Smast Farseners the slide deposited
it at least has this merit of helping

Thank you for these answers, I see a little more clearly.
In fact I use a personal library and I was trying to insert a screw, for example, in a 3D representation instead of an assembly!!
I come from Mechanical desktop 2005 so the transition is not simple, it's not the same philosophy.
