In the design library (right pane in SolidWorks), I thought I could put some drawing files.

That's not possible?

I think you want to have an MEP with your standard parts. Yes it's possible because I do it too but the MEP is not displayed in the pane but it is there when I search for the MEP with my room

They may be in the library folders but will not be visible in the bottom icons.
