Hello, I am in the process of getting my hands on Solidworks and I can't block the value of a dimension. Explanation: if we create a 20 x 40 rectangle we dimension both sides, if we move one side manually the dimension changes. I would like to block the odds at 20 for example and leave the odds of 40 free.

Do you create your dimensions in "piloted"?
Select your rating and in the settings panel that appears on the left, go to the "other" tab
The "piloted" box should not be checked
You can even check "read-only" if you don't want to be able to change it anymore

You need to go to "tools" -> "options" -> "Sketch"
and uncheck the box "Modify dimensions during drag/drop operation"
