I guess you're in a sketch.
So you have to play with the different adjustment modes (don't stay in the ""smart" mode). In general I use "corner" (adjustment of the 2 entities) or "closest" (only adjusts the selected entity).

For my part, I use a lot of keyboard shortcuts that I have customized. T for cut (T for Trim) and E to go to the next line (E for Extend).

For your problem, if it's to trim the strokes except the construction lines, I didn't see a "Construction line" filter, there's just "edge segment", so not possible a priori.
