I'm looking to extrude a text on an arched ferrule!
Dsl after a bit of research I found the Winding function which works great for that!!

It's a function that is also nice for material removal...
If you want to project instead, you can use the projected curve and extrude it by choosing an extrusion direction:

The roll-up function is indeed very practical but has a lot of limitations. Here is a small comparative explanation of another possible more flexible method.
