Solidworks bug

Hi all

I've been working on Solidworks for less than a year (in Educational version), no problem with its installation. After a few months of use, the software displayed a message like: "Full memory".  I remember at the very beginning of the installation having installed the entire software on my SSD card (119 GB).

So I moved the Solidworks Data file to the computer's general hard drive. The problem was resolved, however this message started to appear while opening the software: "The Solidworks database is missing. Not all features will be available." Despite this message , the software ran very well and I released my parts (the day before yesterday I was still working on the software).

Since this morning as soon as I opened the software I observe great slowness and it is impossible to work with it because it is so slow. I re-established the Solidworks Data file on the SSD card, and nothing changes.

I looked for possible Virus, system error, nothing comes out. I restarted my PC 3 or 4 times, and nothing changes too.

It's not my PC, I voluntarily invested in an Asus Gamer PC to work with (119 G SSD; 8 G ram, i7, CG NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 960 M)

Do you have any idea of the problem? Or will I have to reinstall the software?

Thank you for your help.

Hi, guillaume.salazard have you been to see on Solidworks Rx (on your pc), in the "diagnostics" section.
Did you download the most recent driver?
It could perhaps (I mean maybe ^^) be linked.

To work on solidworks you need an sw certified graphics card

so you need a workstation and especially not a gaming PC

Have you thought about doing a cleanup and deleting the local files??? In the long run they take up a lot of space!

and indeed, several times on the forum it has been said that gaming PCs are far from being the best for 3D design.

Is it only me who is bothered by this? "I've been working on Solidworks for less than a year (In Educational Version)"

You still risk big problems if you use it for professional purposes and one day they fall on you.

Otherwise, yes. I would advise you to completely uninstall Sldws and re-install it on the right disk. Solidworks doesn't like to be dismissed as a barbarian... He may have left fingerprints in the SSD, tries to go on it, notices it filled and doesn't like it too much.

And for your information, the PC requirements recommended by Solidworks: http://www.solidworks.fr/sw/support/SystemRequirements.html

Hi everyone, thank you for the answers.

I work for myself on the software, but I don't make any benefits or anything else with it. However, it is my ambition for the future to work with him for professional purposes. At that time I will buy the license.

My computer has the requested configuration. I put information beforehand on the assault site before investing.

My computer displayed an error message at startup (Applestreamphoto), there were 2 missing files necessary for the PC to work. After taking him to the computer scientist, it was following a Virus (I am protected by Kapersky).

Despite the Solidworks cleaning still didn't work, the computer scientist advised me to uninstall and reinstall it. I can't reinstall it, here is the error message:

Internal error: The Windows Installer service was not running as expected for this component: Register_DocMgrDLL.9FB07B3D_0B7D_4A2F_82AB_F16B1F24912C.

Contact technical support.

Internal error: The Windows Installer service did not run as expected for this component:Register_DocMgrDLL.9FB07B3D_0B7D_4A2F_82AB_F16B1F2491

I continue the installation and 30 seconds  later: The installation manager encountered an unrecoverable error... Contact Technical Support... etc

I'll contact the technical support, and bring the PC back to the Doc (He takes care of the repairs)

I'll keep you informed as soon as I know more...

But the problem is not with the PC configuration, that's for sure.

In your installation file you are missing keys. Have you tried with ccleaner to correct the errors??? Yes, unfortunately, no antivirus is 100% safe... They reduce the risks but do not eliminate it.

Keep us informed for the rest.

Kind regards

Ga.

"In my installation file" what do you mean by that? Solidworks or Microsoft installation file?

Yes I have already used Cleaner, it has fixed registry errors, but it has not corrected the problem.

Exactly, yet Kapersky is reputed to be one of the best Anti Viruses.

In the Solidworks installation file, there should be some keys missing. On the other hand, have you noticed that he actually gave you the same error twice???

I think you should uninstall Solidworks cleanly, redownload a .exe of solid student version and try to install the new file again after downloading.

Have a good end of the afternoon

That's exactly what I did, the installation file is a .exe file,  downloaded via the d'assault website.

No it doesn't show me the error twice, only once, I continue the installation, and 30 sec after the installation resumption the message "unrecoverable error " is displayed

Hello

Following a virus attack it requires a little more thorough cleaning than the virus being quarantined by the antivirus and a simple Ccleaner cleaning! Let's see what has been done in terms of cleaning.

The best anti-virus is the user!!!!

Uninstall SW, re-install the latest versions of the msxml and Framework and then re-install SW.

If this is not enough, see https://openclassrooms.com/forum/sujet/erreur-interne-lors-d-une-installation

Kind regards

Hello, sorry but in your message I see the same error twice!!

" Internal Error: The Windows Installer service was not running as expected for this component: Register_DocMgrDLL.9FB07B3D_0B7D_4A2F_82AB_F16B1F24912C.

I did not invent it!

After I agree with d.roger. Maybe the virus made a ruckus before being spotted.

Kind regards

In this kind of case (hazardous manipulation of the software files + virus attack), I recommend the violent and brutal, i.e. formatting and complete and clean reinstallation.

In the end, you save time and hair.

And of course, you must not forget to "free" the license keys... otherwise Sldws considers that the license is already taken and can no longer assign it to the new installation. (which is perhaps the case here?)

Judicious remark from Coin37coin.

In this case (same license on the same machine), I don't know if it's essential. If there is still time (which I doubt), I will do it anyway

Hi everyone, the problems are solved

Already my antivirus blocked the start of the installation, and then the virus had damaged the system quite a bit (Deletion of some C++ program, Visio... etc).

Even after installing all these windows updates it still didn't work.

My computer scientist has inquired, apparently windows has made an update that makes Solidworks bug (my problem happened to other users). So he performed an internal restore of windows.

We didn't get far from reinstalling windows... Barely!

Indeed I had the problem of the license, fortunately I had installed the previous one via a CD. I did the new installation directly by CADWARE and ASSAULT. All of them are working at their best

Thank you for your help, I'm trying to find out about this Windows update, in order to pass on the info to you.

Have a nice day.

Hello

At the same time as the update, will you be able to indicate the version of Windows please?

Kind regards

And also indicate SW's version.

Indeed, with versions prior to 2016 (it seems to me), there was a conflict with the Windows KB3072630 update, but a message was displayed when installing SW.
