I am performing a static calculation on a mechanically welded surface assembly and I have to model the weld seams in COMPATIBLE. However, a warning message appears:
"Mesh impossible, The number of knots that describe the bead projection must be the same on each support to be welded. Use the option to capture mesh edges when adding bend stress to the second support. Verify that the curve projection AND the capture of the nodes WERE successful."
So I constrain the edges concerned and I assign them a defined number of nodes with a certain pitch on the two surfaces to be welded but the error message persists.
Hello, a solution to get around the problem could be to go through a neutral format to have only one body: export in SAT or IGES format and then reimport this file.
Thank you for your quick answer.PL but I have the constraints of going through a surface assembly with shell properties on each element. So I can't switch to neutral format.
I just did the procedure indicated in the tutorial, however when you edit the solder seam property it is set by default to "not compatible" and the "compatible" you are looking for is grayed out... :(
