Center of mass for a volume

Hello everyone,

I have a problem with the center of mass during my design.
To create my part, I have to simulate machining by creating a material removal by scanning between 2 volumes. However, when I want to locate the center of mass of my part, Solidworks takes into account the volume of the tool I used.

Is there a way to get the center of mass of one volume while ignoring another?

Hello, if it is in the same room you just have to select the volume(s) that correspond to the room and not the entire room.

Another solution you click on the body of the tool and Delete/Keep the body (after the removal of material)

Hello;

You can also use the " Envelope " function on your tool. (Parts declared in " envelope " have no masses).

There is also the possibility of creating a specific material to apply to your tools with zero density.

Kind regards
