I have a problem on SW 2013, during the MEP the edges are no longer highlighted in orange when I hover over them with the mouse.
Which makes the selection very annoying...
Anyone have an idea on this?

Check if you don't have a selection filter enabled.
So if that's the case, your mouse pointer only highlights what it was told to filter.

tools, option, display selection, and you check dynamic highlight ;o)

Is your problem untimely or has it already happened several times?
Because this has already happened to me when the pc is saturated. A little restart and no more worries...

Fthomas has given the solution.
It should be noted that this option is automatically unchecked in "complex assembly" mode and that it does not reactivate automatically.
I spend my time reactivating it on assemblies that are a little large. :(
