Indeed, what software are you talking about?

 

For SolidWorks, bottom left: right next to the tab next to <sheet 1>, click on the small tab on the right, then choose the background you want (it may be different from the first one). (overview1)

Once you have created, you can switch from one drawing to another on the same window (aprec2)

 

NB: it's the same process for AutoCAD, except that the software already prepares 3 or 4 drawing tabs for you in advance.

To create a new sheet, you have a tab at the bottom of your drawing sheet 1 to add more (see image "Capture").

you can also "right-click" on Sheet 1 in the Manager feature and click on Add a sheet (see image "capture")

 

And if you want the window allowing you to choose your background format to appear each time , you go to the options (see image "capture 2").
