Here's my problem. Under solidworks in the drawing, I inserted my main view and then a projected view. I have the projected view. I now want to be able to cover this projected view in section view without losing my dimension. Is this possible?
By surrounding your view with a sketch (e.g. with the "rectangle" or "spline" tool) and using the "local section" tool, you will not lose your dimension.
So I understood that you were looking for a conversion <projected view>/<cross-sectional view>; but why not directly create a cross-sectional view?? The scale will remain the same as that of a projected view, and you then add the dimension you want.
I don't understand the passage through the <projected view> stage in fact o_O
