Hello
How do I create an axis in an assembly in Inventor 2013?
I tried to create a sketch with a point at a certain distance from a surface, but then the point of the sketch is not recognized as a point in the assembly....
Does anyone have an idea?
Thank you.

Show us what you want to do
An axis is a straight line with 2 ends
so a line of axis

Good evening
Here are some videos where they explain how to create an axis:

Reminder: on Youtube you can display subtitles even in French.
Hello
Thank you for your answers, I watched the videos but it doesn't match.
I have an assembly (gripper), I need to create an axle at a certain distance from a plate.... so that it can then be positioned in another assembly
I tried by creating a sketch in the assembly with a point that I dimensioned in relation to the turntable.
Then I tried to add the centerline by selecting, an edge (for the direction) but then I can't select the point of the sketch....
Any leads are welcome, thank you.

Hello
Personally, when I want to create an axis, I often use the plane intersection.
In your case, you may need to create a plane distant from the surface and then use the intersection with another to create the axis.
Kind regards.

Hi @ hervé
@samos024's solution is good
Look at this tutorial it's in English (state)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ssy7xPrjR2U
All the assembly constraints are very visual

Hello
Indeed, the creation of an axis in relation to plans is the best solution.
Give us a coin to see.
Kind regards
