How do you create surface defects?

Hello

I would like to model a part (quite rudimentary to begin with) with surface defects (for an example of metrology). Is it possible to do this using the Catia software?

Thanks in advance

Hello

In fact, the characteristic of CAD software is to produce a perfect and theoretical geometry.
Degrading a geometry is a bit unnatural.
I understand your question and I have, in the past, on Catia modeled a part from a point cloud from a metrology measurement.
I had in fact replaced a perfect face with the surface reconstructed from the cloud.
It was finally complicated with a mesh export to a UNV to do a finite element calculation.

If it is to show, by exaggeration, the different orders of measurable defects, I think that a 3D sculpting software would be more adequate. Or even a Nurbs software like Rhinoceros.
The goal is then to push the material locally.

That said, in Catia, there is still  the IMA (Imagine and Shape) workshop that will allow you to model and modify your shape, like modeling clay.
Here's an example with a bike frame on my blog.
You can model anything you want, but without precise dimensions.
