How to create a video presentation of a project in solidworks?

Hi all

I'm looking for a video software to create an animation. Let me explain: I have an assembly in Solidworks 2019 with a mechanism arranged in a structure and I would like to make a 1st person video where we would see the door of the structure open and we will move forward in it by rotating the camera from left to right to visualize the mechanism while moving forward.

I did some research and having discovered blender it seems possible to me but I don't know how to use it so if you know tutorials for this type of video please put them in the comments.

I hope I was clear in my explanation, thank you in advance!

Hello, there was in my old company a software called walkinside I think, with which you used a man to walk around your factory modeled in 3D ... I don't know if there is a function to record but then you can record your screen with a third party software... on the other hand I think it's paid and not cheap...

Thank you for your answer, I'll take a look at this but I would need free software. The structure is not gigantic, 10m in length maximum.

There is also under solidworks the "movement study", at the bottom of the 3D you have several tabs ... with a camera you could stage it, and record ... I did it a long time ago...   watch different tutorials on Youtube, there must be some, or wait a little, some people will inform you more precisely than me.

Hello

There's this program that allows you to record what you're doing on the screen

https://obsproject.com/fr

It's free and you can choose different recording format

I use it to make some presentation sometimes, I find it quite easy to use :), which will allow you to do the animation live :), then stay more than the video showed

On the other hand I never tried to make a trip in the project area, it was more of an animation of the operation I was doing

Thank you for your answer GT22. Indeed, I came across one of these videos and that's exactly what I need. So now I'm going to look at the camera path tool now that I've learned about it. However, I don't know how he managed to have such a realistic rendering (video 2 and 3). Photoworks has it intended for photography.

Hello

I had made 2 small tutorials to explain how to use the camera with SolidWorks to make a video:

Otherwise, if the system is large enough, you can use "Virtual Course"

And use the following commands to evolve in the system to make a video:

Another solution is to use the "Constraint Driver".

Very suitable when you want to move a mechanism with constraints at the limits.

Or use the "motion study" with the "Animation" option

There's a tutorial in SolidWorks that explains how to use the keys and view orientations to make a cool video.

Hello lionel.bernardi381 |

Because you are in the 2019 version and provided that you are in maintenance, I remind you that you are entitled to the Visualize software which is included with this version.

However, to get Visualize, you have to ask your VAR because it's a free license but with a specific license number.

Look here how it's Bho :-)     You have more under youtioube

It's in fact Visualize is  the Bunkspeed software that is intended to replace Photoview360 because it is faster and easier to use.  (photoview is a light version of MODO 801).

Kind regards

Thank you Aliende for these 2 very nice tutorials. That helped me a lot. All I have to do now is find out if it is possible to improve the rendering of the video you have as an example at the end of your second tutorial. Videos were talking about photoworks but it's for photo editing apparently so I don't know how they use it with solidworks videos.

For tip top renderings, you already need to have a very good graphics card like Quadro.

I take note of that, thank you.
