As I am about to migrate my data to SW PDM Pro, I have my doubts about how SolidWorks PDM handles flexible components (springs and others).
→ what impact do they have on file versions?
Would anyone have experience on the subject so that he could guide me ("no worries you can go", or "to be avoided") please?

When you say flexible is it driven by the assembly??
For me the switch to PDM should not change much: when opening the PDM assembly will load the latest version and then SW will recalculate the length.
The problem could appear with the PDM automatic tasks (creation of pdfs, dwg...): there is a possible risk that SW does not rebuild the flexible part properly at the time of file creation.
I haven't used flexible components in the assemblies yet so I can't answer you for sure.
