How to make grooves on a cylinder  (see photo), I can't draw the sketch on the surface of the cylinder

Hello

You select the face where your red line starts and you sketch it and then remove material from the desired depth of your groove

Hello

You have to create a plane, using reference geometry and make a sketch on this plane. Then function, removal of matter.
