How do you drill on 1 round surface?

How do I go about creating a thread (with the "Drilling Assistance" feature) on a rounded or spherical surface on SolidWorks?

Hello

Simply select the round face before the "Drilling Assistance" function or after if you are in the SW2013 version. This creates a 3D sketch that you can constrain and position in relation to your geometry.

Kind regards

Hello

As @jmsavoyat says, by launching the drilling function with the spherical surface selected, SW will automatically propose to position the hole using a 3D sketch.

It is therefore possible to position a point on the sphere or cylinder and to constrain the latter in relation to precise reference axes.

If the question is the same as on the previous post (http://www.lynkoa.com/forum/ecoulement-des-fluides/ceer-un-filetage-sur-une-surface-arrondi), an answer with image has been given by @Centor.

Be careful not to open the same question twice, and remember to validate the best answer to close the debate.

Hello

For my part, I create a plane with an equation so that it is always tangent

at the edge of my tube when I change the diameter.

Then I do my drilling on this plane.

I think the subject is solved @ karakoc-y

Have you watched the video I posted?

and notes the correct answers
