How to Handle the Hole Creation Index - SolidWorks

Hello

Whenever the Drilling Wizard or Drilling Series is used, SolidWorks writes the name into the FeatureManager with a hint directly after the name:

In the example above, this gives us M51 or M52 for M5 threads.

I know that SolidWorks can't put the same name to the same function, but is it possible to have a space or better a hyphen so that it is more readable (e.g. M5 -1, or M5 (1))

Hello

Yes it's possible but manually, you can right-click on the function and rename. Then we give it the name we want.

Yes that's what I usually do, but in an "automated" way that I'd like it to be done

I don't think you can change this setting automatically in the options.

Hello

I don't think it's possible by default in SolidWorks, but a macro could do it (you would have to run it by hand when you want it or during each recording automatically).

All that's left to do is program it!

Sorry it's stronger than me!

You have to call on a macro unfortunately.

In fact, there is probably some interesting information here:

You have to look at the "hole wizard" & "calloutformat.txt" file:

Hello

It seems to me that the TreeManager utility of the MyCadTools does that!
