I explain my problem, recently I use the model replacement on a drawing and suddenly my sides become "wobbly side" so when it doesn't have much I delete them and I put them back by hand, but when it starts to have a lot of side I wonder if there is not a technique for the wobbly side to return to normal side, knowing that often my ribs are not the same except small modifications
No miracle solution except to attach the dimension line to the "lost" objects. Basically, when you click on a dimension, the fasteners of these are in red (hook point). You just have to drag on the right entity.
For the holes, it's feasible as long as it's linear dimension, if it's diameter/radius dimensions to my knowledge no choice but to delete (same for the chamfers) and recreate.
However, it happens that it doesn't work properly and that from time to time he can't hang up the dimension (odds at 0 sometimes, he switches it to horizontal instead of keeping it vertical and vice versa).
No miracle solution to offer you either. From this situation, I remove all the wobbly dimensions, then I recall (import) the dimensions of the 3D with the "Model Object" tool on the "Annotation" toolbar .
For dimensions that go from vertical to horizontal and vice-versa, these are dimensions that have been created by selecting just one edge (so the length of the edge), there is nothing to differentiate them from "classic" dimensions.
When the dimensions have the 2 red "handles", I can't connect them.
In the particular case of @Snorlax, for it to work optimally, the pieces would have to be declined from each other. If a feature is recreated, SW will not be able to reattach it.
A few tips that worked for me and that avoid having to do everything again.
- sometimes you can't grab the handles of the wobbly dimensions anymore --> delete the dimension and press Ctrl+Z to make it come back. The odds are becoming editable again.
- by deleting the odds and then ctrl + z, sometimes the odds go back to black and are no longer wobbly! A must try
- To repair wobbly dimensions, SolidWorks often doesn't want to select the edges anymore. --> select the point of the edge rather than the edge to repair the dimension.
I'm running on SW 2019 SP5, there may have been improvements on these bugs since...
For the wobbly dimensions I think everything has been said, on the other hand for the replacement of the model, you have to use another method that works much better (it's a mystery to me):
- Copying and pasting your plan
- Open it and select it in the windows tree from SolidWorks
- Go to reference and directly replace the template then open
In addition, it is possible to remove wobbly dimensions at the end of the opening when SW indicates the number of items lost.
