Start with those that are integrated into SW in order to have the basics.

To train you, nothing is more formative than drawing objects around you like your mobile phone for example, then things a little more complex like your TV remote control or your bike (piece by piece)

stef is right, use the tutorials integrated into SW to learn the basic functions.

As Stef said, there's nothing like Solidworks help.

It is filled with tutorials of all levels.

Good luck!

EUuuu me =)

I don't have my house yet:p hihi

By the way! By the way, I have a little question that is completely off topic.

When you design buildings, how do you go about it?

You start from a multibody part with several bosses etc... Or do you assemble the pieces one by one?

You will tell me that it depends on the case, but I suppose that those who mainly work in construction surely have a very specific way of working.

@Bart,

Is it a professional or personal question?

If it's professional you should know what type of building you want to do.

If it's personal, to plan the layout, I make one room (sldprt) per floor (basement, ground floor, 1st,... and finally roof) and without ceiling. I create an assembly from this room where I place all the elements of the layout (doors, windows, furniture, bathtub, table, chair, paintings...). And in the end, I make an assembly of these sub-assemblies of floors.

PS: you can also draw your apartment! :)

It's for my personal culture =)

I wasn't sure how much detail I should go to.

I see that there are some who draw the wooden frame, the insulation etc...

I would have liked to do this to show how a wooden frame house with waterproofing etc...

So I'm going to design block by block for the parts and then add the elements in it.

Thank you for the tip Benoit =)

Oh so cool, I asked myself exactly the same question last time :)!

I had proceeded in the same way as Benoit.LF! You can then make an exploded presentation of your different floors ;)!

When I did these models (an apartment then a two-storey house) it was more from a layout/decoration point of view than construction.

If you want to represent all the technical lots, you'll need a good computer I think, because it's going to represent a few :) parts.

We are going to offer our services to Valérie Damidot from D&CO :)
