I would like to get a unfolded design from a client who works under Catia.
He sent me an IGES but I only have a surface body.
How do you transform this surface into sheet metal? I need the unfolded to send it to the laser cutting.

There are several solutions available to you:
In Solidworks you have in the sheet metal toolbar a function called "Convert to sheet metal", if the geometry allows you you will get your sheet metal directly flat.
Optionally you can also use the "thicken" function to transform your surface into volume and then in the sheet metal toolbar use the "insert folds" function
If the geometry is too complex or includes stampings, for example, there is the solution of the logopress3 software, which is a GoldPartner Solidworks.
