How to set up your Solidworks Toolbox "on the fly"?

Hello

We are in the process of creating our own Solidworks toolbox to have names in French that can be understood by all the company's departments and by our ERP. To do this, we copy, paste into a new directory the elements of the ISO, DIN or other library that interest us and we give them the names in French that suit us. We have to change : the name of the configuration, the designation, the part number, the description, the comment and to this we have added two additional properties: a price and a material.

Currently,  we make these changes by hand line by line  for all 150 configurations of a screw (if not more). It's long, tedious, and error-prone.

We want to automate the data entry or at least simplify it. Indeed, for example  the name of the configuration is always of the same form " HEAD SCREWS M_ x _ ISO___ "    as well as for the designation  " HEAD SCREWS M_ x Length ", description it is the full name of the head...

For automated : we wondered if there wasn't something to do at the level of the part itself so that the SW automatically retrieves the data and concatenates it properly. To simplify, we wondered if it was not possible to do Excel import-export where you just have to pull columns to have an automatic value fill.

Another point, more complex, but less important in the immediate future :

For the part number we would like it to increment by itself or arbitrarily we impose a number (the PB is that with 150 configurations per screw we quickly took 15000 number of which the 9 tenths will never really be used in the end by the company), or that a number be given to the configuration when it is used, or even better that the toolbox is able to retrieve the part number in the ERP and integrate it into the toolbox. Ideally, this is the same process we want for the prices of each screw. But for now, we'll probably be entering this information by hand.

Thank you Thomas

Hello

Try this type of research: https://www.google.fr/search?q=toolbox+site:www.lynkoa.com&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&gws_rd=cr&ei=6EB5VqPGFIPjUa3GmNgK

See you.

Edit: We use screw libraries also related to the ERP. The toolbox is tedious and not very stable for my taste. So we use files with part families.

See: http://www.lynkoa.com/forum/3d/toolbox-solidworks

I can send you an example if you wish.

Thank you for these links remrem. I think I'm going to abandon  the toolbox to build my own library.

To answer my question, I found a video that answers the question of changing properties on the fly with an Excel import export:
