Hello
That is the problem. I would like to switch from an inventor plan. IDW to a . DXF to then send it to laser cutting.
What would be the fastest way to do that??
Thank you in advance

In my opinion, the easiest way is to use the task scheduler...
You have to choose "Export", Select the project or directory.
Then, filter the Idw files and choose in DWG or DXF output format
Otherwise, maybe through a macro, but the task scheduler seems to me to be a pretty good solution.
Hello
If the conversion concerns only one file, from Inventor you just have to open the file and choose "save as" or "export" and choose the DWG format.
I meant DXF and not DWG.
being under inventor 2012 there is no choice to save directly in DXF on the other hand you can save in DWG then with autocad 2012 open the DWG for the saved in DXF which I did.
I would have just liked to go from IDW to DXF without doing a double manipulation.
I can't find the task scheduler could you tell me where it is??
Kind regards
Bastien
Task Scheduler is an external application. So you won't find it in Inventor itself (it's the same with SolidWorks).
You have to go to the Inventor program group in the Windows menu.
Start--> All Programs-->Task Scheduler
If it is not there, it must be installed.
Well although lunkoa.c.manager's answer with the "task scheduler" should bring a faster solution, I couldn't try it because I don't have enough access to install it.
So I performed the operation in two steps:
- Saving plans in DWG under INVENTOR
- Then under AUTOCAD save the DWG in DXF.
Thank you for everything

In Inventor do Save Copy as
Choose DXF format
Click Options
Choose the desired version
Then click Next to choose scaling
Then finish
And Save to the desired location
Here is for me the + safe method
Hello
So after trying all these solutions, several problems arise for me:
Save as: I don't have the .dxf format option (while; dwg, yes)
With the task scheduler: (I can convert to .dwg but not .dxf
So convert to dwg and then with autocad convert the dwg to dxf, well there it makes me plans on which only the dimensions appear, you can no longer see any line of my part...
Brief... HELP!! Please.
Thank you.
Hello
When you have your . IPT (the 3D model) in inventor, click on the face of your model, choose "Export face as" and you can normally save in .dxf
