I have a project where I have to make a part of a ring body with 3 bands that intertwine as in the photo. I managed to make something similar (plus string) with round patterns using a specific twist via a sweep. I don't know how to make this kind of Patterns (PJ) simply on Solidworks.
Do you have a specific way of doing things to recommend to me?
First of all, I would only draw one strand (since it seems to me that the other 2 are the same just angularly offset). And even on this strand I would only draw an angular sector (a priori 1 quarter circle). Then you have to do 2 body repetitions (the first one to close the 1st strand) and merge each time. It is possible that the second one (creation of the other 2 rings) will cause problems for SW to merge (tangency problem). At that point, you will just have to add a revolution function.
Your method of stringing seems to me to be transposable to this case.
Since the profile repeats, drawing only one occurrence of ripple and repeating it should help to achieve something simple to achieve and not too difficult to do.
A scan on a 3D spline. Personally I would define several planes with sketches to get the spline in place as it should be (sections placed at the change of direction of the section)
Work in multibody to avoid bugs related to geometries that are too close (for the second and third). Logically, drawing the first complete revolution of the first braid and repeating it 2 times with the right angle should be enough to get the desired model.
Method for lazy: search on 3d content central or other sites. This kind of thing has probably already been drawn by someone
