Graphics Card Compatibility

Hello;

I recently bought an Hp Zbook 17 laptop. And I have big video problems with it (no photo rendering, etc...)

I've been looking for a few days for proof of the compatibility of the Nvidia k3000M graphics card with Solidworks. But I couldn't find anything.

Can you tell me (with supporting evidence) if this graphics card is Solidworks certified.

Thank you! =)

Hello

The list of compatible hardware is here:

http://www.solidworks.fr/sw/support/videocardtesting.html

Edit:

Not in the list, so no official drivers, so no certification, which doesn't mean it's not compatible, but it hasn't been tested or certified: see attached image from the first link.

Otherwise, they talk about it here (in 2012) and are a priori happy with it, but don't talk about which version of the driver is installed:

I can't confirm that the quadro Nvidea K3000 M is SolidWorks certified and approved by solidworks

Look at the driver version http://www.solidworks.fr/sw/support/videocardtesting.html

I just looked at the 3000 is not  there (why mystery and gumball)

There is the 2000, 4000, 5000, 6000

sorry ;-(

Hello

You can start by updating the graphics card drivers.

Strange, on the document below, they recommend a laptop with the K3000M card.

Thank you for your answers.

I've already tried everything.

The last driver has been installed, nothing changes, so I called HP support who installed another HP certified driver.

Always the same, so I called H.P back who sent me Windows CDs for formatting.

I will admit that it bothers me a little to format everything, especially since my workstation is configured for my professional network.

I don't understand where the problem comes from.

For your information, this item was sold to me by a Solidworks reseller, and therefore is supposed to be certified by the latter....

I've had this position for 6 months and I still can't use it to the fullest!

I'm limited by this graphics card that doesn't even want to wake my pc or even do a basic photo rendering.

Then ask your dealer which driver they recommend!

And if not, try to test older drivers, as I wrote, in 2012 it worked without problems!

Hello

I also think that you have to contact the dealer again and especially make the warranty work because in my opinion one of the components is HS.

So I'm going to insist with my reseller, and with HP that he take back my machine....

It sucks, who tells me that they are not going to send me the same job.... with the same problems...

6 months that I've been in dispute with them, it's starting to look good!

Re

It's a K3000M or a K3100M, I have colleagues who have an HP Zbook 17 but with a K3100M and you can find the driver on the SolidWorks website.

You should switch to Creo 2.0, it accepts the pc.

More seriously, on the attached document, you will find the version numbers of the drivers according to the maps.

And as Coyote says, on the Zbook 17, it is the K3100M that is indicated.

What operating system do you have on it?

I would have told you to take another model like Elite Book 8770W 8780W

with a quadro 4000 equipped with an SSD

but not seen on their site in France

Here is the configuration of my colleagues which works very well:

  • Intel Core i7 4800 QM Processor at 2.7 GHz - Quad Core

  • 16 GB RAM at 1600 MHz

  • NVIDIA Quadro K3100M graphics, 4 GB RAM

  • 256 GB SSD

  • Windows 7 in 64-bit

I'm back to rectify a big mistake.

It is indeed a K3100M.

Whether I take the driver on the Solidworks website, or on the HP website (which are not the same)

Both drivers crash non-stop.

No solution found, except the H.P support which offers me to format... (great idea...^^)

Here is my config in return:

Intel core I5 4330M 2.8Ghz

8GB of RAM

Windows 7 64-bit

Nvidia Quadro K3100M

465 GB hard drive in hybrid SSD

Re

So I'm thinking more and more about a defect on the component.

I have always installed the drivers from the SolidWorks website, they are developed especially for SolidWorks in collaboration with the manufacturer.
