eDrawing 2014 and 7 32-bit compatibility

Hi all

Newly enrolled, I quickly introduce myself, I am still at school. More precisely in engineering school in work-study in M1 in Mechanics and Production. I work in a company that transforms elastomers for niche markets, so small series. I am responsible for the implementation of SolidWorks in my company.

Here's my problem: I'm being asked to install eDrawings 2014 on my colleagues' computers for client presentations. But they are equipped with 72-bit 32-bit which is not compatible with the latest version of eDrawings. But the link to the 2013 version on Linkoa is dead (http://www.lynkoa.com/store/fr/logiciels-libres/edrawings/edrawings-viewer-x32-2013-sp2.html)

Do you have a solution to install eDrawings 2014 or install eDrawings x32 2013 sp2?

Thank you for your answers

Hello

I had the same problem:

Install a recent version of Edrawings for workstations still in production under XP, and the solution is as follows:

I went to the SolidWorks website to download the PRO version of the SP5 by doing this:

  1. Go to the SolidWorks website.
  2. Log in (I have an up-to-date paid account)
  3. Go to the downloads page
  4. Choose SW 2013 (even if in fact it is not XP compatible!)
  5. After accepting the conditions, choose at the bottom:
"individually download, unzip, and install all the files (not recommended)."
  6. Then it's the tricky part: on my colleague's PC, there was already an old version of Edrawings, and when I launched the 2013 one, I couldn't choose to install, but I was able to modify the installation.
  7. Edrawings has installed normally.
  8. At the first launch, not finding a license for the PRO version, he told me that the viewer version was going to launch.

Edit: in fact I think that by installing the version that is attached to this message (just by extracting the files in "Programs Files" for example) it works!

Hello

Be careful if you install an edrawing 2013 you will not be able to open the files of the following versions.

So if you are using SW 2014 you will not be able to view your files with eDawing 2013.

Hello

eDrawings 2014 works in 32 bits! It's the 2015 that doesn't work in 32bits anymore!

Hello

Thank you for the introduction, it's always nice to know a little more about the members of the forum.

As for the problem of compatibility, why not create an edrawing document for each piece that can be executed in 32 bits?

These files can then be opened by anyone on the server.

Hello

Thank you for your answers,

There were no issues when installing eDrawings 2014, but when opening it it displayed an error message.

I used your trick .PL, by moving the folder to "Program Files" it works very well. Thank you

See you soon

Edit: I'll see about using the trick of the eDrawings executable for travel.
