Making it difficult to read/understand a SW20 part or assembly

Hello

We would like to send SLDPRT and SLDASM files to our client, while rotting these files a bit. What we're looking for is to, for example, transform a volume body into a surface area so that it has slight difficulties working from our 3D file.

However, it should still be possible to measure in the file, but not, for example, to be able to add a hole easily.

If someone were to know a simple and relatively quick method (I'm thinking of the task plannifacteru for example) and who would like to share their knowledge with us, that would be super nice!

Thank you in advance for your answers,

Kind regards

Theo

Hello Theo,

What about eDrawings?

Good evening Theo

I would rather propose "Defeature" which is precisely made for that.
Defeature had a different name in the old versions (I don't remember it).

Defeature is getting more sophisticated since 2019

Hello

First of all, I'd like to thank you for taking the time to answer and for your help!

Alain, indeed, eDrawings could be a solution, however it is not possible to make a 3D file right?

Zozo_mp, your solution is really interesting! We didn't know about it and we are in the process of testing it to find its limits of use. We have already discovered a first potential limitation, which is that once the file was "deFeaturized", we were able to add holes and modify the part. My question therefore arises as follows: Is it possible with this function to transform bodies into a surface?

Thank you all for your answers,

Kind regards

Theo

Otherwise, there are speedpak configurations that could perhaps provide the solution.

Hello Theo

With defeature, only the elements that are not important to you are preserved.
If you leave the outer casing (because non-sensitive or non-essential information) then they may well drill the holes they want. Anyway, nothing prohibits (unless the file is totally locked) to create a ghost  room where they will put what they want and  attach it to your set.
The purpose of defeature is to hide sensitive information, the rest is not important.

For the surface you just have to re-thicken and you will have a bit of volume where they can cling to it.

Edrawing is in 3D and you can forbid certain things like taking dimensions ;-)

@ All In your opinion, can we combine defeature with Speedpack   ;-)  ;-) ;-)

Kind regards
