During the first design phases, I work mainly with virtual components (the assemblies themselves being recorded "in-house"). Today, when I reopened the assembly I was working on last week, I was surprised to see that Soldiworks could no longer find one of the parts. Just one. All the others load and display correctly, but for one of them I get a message "Unable to find the file — The following occurrences were deleted or opened from a new location when opening this file"; which makes no sense since I didn't open the said part (which is virtual, anyway, so not exactly the kind of file that you fiddle with by mistake by searching the temporary folders...), nor deleted it, nor touched the assembly itself (since it's the first time I've turned on the computer since the last time I saved everything beautiful people!).
So I just have one piece, only one in the middle of my entire assembly (while all of them are identically virtual) that has... Missing.
Thank you for any help (because I only have a very moderate desire to redraw it...)!
The Save Virtual Components dialog box is not skipped, and is still displayed. In addition, the other components of the assembly, which are correctly found, are also virtual...
If you have a hotline, transfer your assembly to them. I had a buggy file, the R&D of dassault had debugged it for me. You shouldn't be in a hurry though.
If you have EPDM you can retrieve a version below.
Without a file as I told you, difficult to help you out.
Have you looked in "File / Search for references" to see from which location SW is looking for this part? This can happen as a result of an unfortunate external recording and then a deletion of the file or folder... or an unfortunate external recording on a network disk that is no longer accessible...
