Hello
I work with assemblies where I have a beam as a virtual component.
For some unknown reason, without any particular event, Solidworks loses the 'path' that says '<saved in assembly>' of my virtual component and indicates in the references the temporary folder where, obviously, the part is not located.
How do I re-indicate to Solidworks that this component is virtual (saved in the assembly)?
What should I do to stop this from happening?
Thank you
David

Hello
You probably created it in the assembly, to fix it just right-click on it in the featur manager and save as.

Thank you for your feedback.
But it's impossible. He considers the part as external to the assembly and not virtual. It doesn't offer me to save as.
In addition, I want to keep this virtual component.
Which version are you in and can you share your assembly so we can take a look?
2020, the assembly is attached to my 1st post.
Following a phone conversation with Visiativ support, it is a Solidworks bug. A request for a patch is made to the publisher, in case of doubt it is recommended not to use virtual components.
