Concatenate custom properties

Hello

I want the custom property "description" to be the concatenation of two other properties.

This allows me to rename assemblies.

Is there a solution without Mycadtool?

Hello

A very simple solution here:

https://www.solidsolutions.co.uk/blog/2013/06/concatenation-of-custom-properties/

Just do this in the corresponding document template (part, assembly or plan).

I totally agree @Frédéric! in no way was it a criticism!

@Thom@s

Yet very useful in Excel in the form =CONCATENATE(C1; "long"; D1). To be used, for example, in families of commercial parts.

@BenoitLF I use the ampersand for this:

=C1&" long "&D1

And some may learn a new word! :-)

In one answer you teach me 2 things@.PL

... ampersand... never heard of it. You have to manage to remember it but it will be more elaborate than "AND commercial":)

As for writing the formula with ampersands rather than the classic formulas, how long has it been possible?

I think it's always been there! I don't think I've ever used the concatenate function in almost 15 years that I've been using Excel!
