Solidworks Chain Design

Hello, Good evening everyone,

I'm having a problem with the design of a drivetrain on SolidWorks. Indeed, I insert my "chain path" in an assembly and I try with the "repetition of components in chain" function to place my links in order to compose this chain. However, as you can see from the screenshot, my links are absolutely not on the right track. But the trajectory alignment plane only accepts the face plane of the link. However, when I insert my chain path into a "blank" assembly, my links are placed correctly. I tend to believe that the link is positioned parallel to the front plane of the assembly...

So if any of you have an idea or know how to fix it, I'd be really happy because I've been struggling for several hours...

Thank you in advance,

Looking forward to reading you,

Fabrice

Hello

Here are 2 videos explaining the channel function. A fairly long one with a lot of details and another more succinct one

Hello Yannick,

Thank you for your answer. These are the 2 videos that allowed me to understand how to create a channel, however they don't answer my problem... but thank you again.

Kind regards

Fabrice

Without sharing your files, the people on the forum won't  be able to help you anymore. I'm under 2017.Je can't do more.
