Hello
Someone willing to help me solve a mechanical design problem. Indeed, I have to design a system of worm screws, to allow the opening of a grid made up of cylinders in the form of an elipse. The idea is to rotate the cylinders in order to reduce the distance between the cigars according to the diameter of the cigars. I attach a photo and the zipped file.

Already:
- You can redo your zip by making a composition to take with you: the SLDASM file alone is unusable.
- indicate which version of SW you are working with.
Then, in what context do you do this study (internship, service, etc.)?
And finally, what exactly is your problem, what do you have as a solution?

Thank you Stefbeno,
It is the transmission of the rotational motion to all the cylinders that causes me problems. At the entrance we will have a screw nut system that drives the first cylinder at the same time the others must follow in order to respect the same spacing between the cylinders. I'm going to attach a zip file with composition to take away.
It's for an internship. I use solidworks 2017.

As it's for an internship (so you're in training and have to apply what you've seen in class), I'm only going to give you some ideas that we'll refine as you think, that's the "policy" on this forum (we're not here to do your job and it wouldn't be formative and wouldn't do you any favors in the long term).
So it's just the problem of angular synchronization between elliptical cylinders? So you need a slip-free drivetrain.
Before you try to model, try to make sketches by hand.
The idea of the elliptical roller is clever but remains to be seen the cost of manufacturing (unless you have found it commercially).

Thank you stefbeno, I will push my thoughts and I will come back to post the progress of my work soon and again thank you.
Hello Stefbeno
Nice for elliptical cylinders and we both know that there is no need to have this type of cylinder almost impossible to find to solve the problem.
I hope you won't find my remark too eccentric. :-) :-)
EDIT
I just looked at his system and there is a mega OS because his system as it is designed crushes cigars by 20.2% reducing the diameter of the cigar at the time of crushing from 10mm to 7.8mm. Moreover, if our young colleague had done these constraints correctly, he would have noticed the problem (TO BE CONTINUED...)

Hello
Yes Zozo_mp, there is a high risk of crushing the cigars but only if the mechanism is activated with the presence of cigars above it, which is not said anywhere. You could also say that once all the openings are filled with cigars that are too big, what happens to the smaller cigars on the upper floor... It would be interesting to have a little more information on the purpose of setting up such a mechanism.
The supply of such a cylinder can indeed be complicated but it exists in the form of a tube (to be seen depending on the material required).
Do elliptical rollers have to be turned in the same direction or can they be rotated in reverse at a rate of one out of two? (pinion at each end of the roller).
Kind regards
