I want to buy a macbook pro 16 in the near future, and I would need to run SolidWorks on it from time to time (assemblies up to 100MB max, little simulation).
I would need your opinion on the following configuration (to run SW via Parallels or BootCamp)
- Intel core i9 8 cores 2.3GHz - 4.8GHz
- 16 GB DDR4
- AMD Radeon Pro 5500M with 8GB GDDR6 <== it's mainly on the graphics card that I need advice^^
- 1TB SSD
That's all! (I specify that I know that SW is not made to run on mac at the base and that it is better to have a pc, but I need a mac for other uses...)
Thank you for the link, but this leads me to a second question: an uncertified card means that the software will necessarily malfunction or simply that SolidWorks clears itself in case of malfunction? Because the card present in the config I mentioned is not certified, but seems to be more efficient than some certified cards...
Let him clear himself! This may work very well but is not certified. On the other hand, it may also not work at all or partially, no certainty until you have tried!
And at first glance, do you have an opinion on how SW works with the graphics card mentioned? Because it would bother me a little if it didn't work at all^^
