Who is going to CONNECT by VISIATIV in LYON next Wednesday?
Hello
I don't think I'll be there this year. I just found out that he was there this year too thanks to your message but for me it's a bit late to ask for an invitation, ....
Happy forum!
Hello@Aliende
It's true that the communication was badly done this year and moreover no challenge this year SNIF !!
Kind regards
I just came back from the #Connect2019, this year the event was "reserved" for decision-makers (management and/or company company) not for "users".
It was mainly about digital transformation.
There was no presentation of the software.
Hello
So I was right not to go and waste my day.
Hello
Indeed that's what I understood hence my absence. I hope that they will return to the previous format, which was much better for us, rich in meetings and exchanges.
May the force be with you.
From what I have been able to understand, this is not on the agenda. The user is no longer the focus of the VISIATIV Group
It's a shame, the previous events allowed us to learn about the new features of the game and to exchange with each other.
Let's hope that the next editions will become user-friendly again.
"The user is no longer at the center of attention of the VISIATIV group"
It makes me smile. We still felt the blow coming. The time spent on software was getting smaller and smaller.
Personally, I think there should be an event reserved for users without all the dressing and the "bling bling" side of the previous editions.
EDIT: No matter how much we are told the opposite. The lack of events on the Lynkoa platform is proof of disinterestedness.
Hello
This is understandable!
For a software vendor, and especially a vendor of "solutions", it is more profitable and less expensive to seek contacts with the decision-makers (i.e. those who sign the purchase order).
Users are not their core target as BtoB marketers say. On TPIs and worse for SMEs or small companies, the weight of users is tiny.
Let's take a small company that has 6 people in the design office and 3 people in the pre-production department.
Once you give more or less the latest version of SW no need to make large user routs.
Why you just have to look at the very, very low participation rate in all the webinars organized by all the VARs. Most training is done with new software users.
Look at how many of you have been sent for training to improve your skills at SW or simply how many hours per year your company allocates for your in-situ self-training from existing tutorials.
Remember the speech of the Dassault representative last year or as I have already said in other posts: fontd's tendency is to bet everything on collaboration and the multitude of software adapted to each functional brick.
However, all-round collaboration works quite well for first- and second-tier suppliers, and in some cases third-tier suppliers.
But in the case of companies - often SMEs - that produce for themselves and market their range of well-defined products: we realize that exchanges with their supplier are essentially done via basic file exchanges. But no common intranet, joint planning, etc, etc...
So it is more profitable to hold seminars targeted at decision-making leaders than at basic software users.
For basic users: a forum and a hotline cover all needs.
Kind regards
PS: it would be interesting to have the opinion of F.Legendre who, it seems to me, is in a case where he uses several VIsiativ services to optimize production globally.
@remrem
I validate
may the force be with you.
Indeed I use several services from VISIATIV:
In addition to SolidWorks and the mycadtools tools, we have invested (following a TNGV audit from Visiativ) in a suite of applications (MoovApps) to bring my company into the digital world.
It is currently being implemented and this project is initially planned for a period of 3 years (and it will not be too !!)
It is clear that Visiativ's business is no longer (or less) the SolidWorks suite of Dassault Systèmes, the resources implemented around our CAD tool are less and that the driving forces are focused on MoovApps and not on SW and the tools around:
The forum is no longer too lively
MyCadTools updates and new features almost non-existent
I would even say that on the Dassault Système side, the SW novelties are less and far from revolutionary (yet there are things to improve on the mechanical welding and symmetrical parts !!! side). From what I know, DS is betting everything on the 3D Experience, it's still unclear, but if we listen to the managers, tomorrow we're going to work in the cloud with apps including SolidWorks and we'll pay for the time we use these apps!!!
Hello, the remarks are relevant and interesting! I would just like to make a clarification about Visiativ's interest in users of Dassault Systèmes solutions. We pay great attention to addressing all functions in the industry, from the user to the CEO and we try as best we can to keep up with the evolution of technologies and markets. We have evolved Connect this year to address business leaders, to give them leads and answers on the subject of digital transformation through customer testimonials.
Concerning Solidworks or Catia users, we are thinking about other formats to continue to animate this community and keep you informed of all the news, through videos, training (6000 users trained per year), platforms like Lynkoa since 2013, and above all a presence in the region but in a slightly different timing than what we used to do. Rather at the beginning of the year.
If you have any special wishes, I think this post is a good place to continue the discussion!
Let go :)
Hello
I think users want to be informed about new software. It is important for us to know the new features of our daily work tool.
Secondly, technology monitoring is important.
Hello
I speak for myself, what I appreciated with the old formula was the presentation of the new tips of the moment but above all the meeting and exchange with people from various trades but especially with people who spend 8 hours a day on Solidwoks. Training is good, but only theory. In the training programs, everything always goes well. The interest of meeting users is above all to discuss our problems and how we came to solve them. May the force be with you.
Hello fchosson
Thank you for your intervention.
For the proposals, I don't believe in videos as they are made because it's too close to what is on Youtube where you can practically know everything about all the features of SW (even the most esoteric).
On the other hand, to bounce back on what our very dear WAN @OBI says (whom I salute), it would be good to make a "class crash case", someone from the hotline or a user who is with a difficult case (preferably solved) gives his case as an example (be directly taken up by a Visiativ expert).
These could also be examples of productivity.
I see on this forum people who have different configurations or who are facing estimator problems. Some forum members seem to be doing much better, so it would be interesting to know why.
Also prospective articles written by the people of the forum or by experts from Visiativ.
Because through the word sponge – Digital Transformation – there are also foreseeable upheavals in the way we design. If I take what I saw 50 years ago and today it hasn't changed much - even since there are a lot of CNC machines and robots and the ways of measuring have unheard of at the time.
On the other hand, with topological optimization, generative topology, etc... Well, it's not the same way of conceiving at all. (today we don't use topology very badly for those who do it).
To conceive differently is not so trivial as all that, but it is what will perhaps be "generator of differentiating knowledge".
And doing otherwise will concern us as much as young people who, like Obelix, will fall into the pot of CANT (Design Assisted by Topological Digitization). It should be noted that engineering training (BAC Pro is even worse) does not deal with this aspect at all. They focus on using the software and that's it!
Also, the automatic resizing of parts in an ASM during the setting of constraints is almost at year 0. (Watch the stammerings in the 2009 version with the mega telescope.)
Brief! Showing examples that could be prospective can open the eyes of those who have been in the same company for a long time: especially if these companies, although having great know-how and giving a lot of satisfaction to their customers, are not very innovative in reality.
Thank you for your intervention, which I hope will not be just a one-off one. ;-)
Kind regards
Hello Zozo_mp
Thank you for these comments and wishes.
With Clémentine (who is still there but who is no longer a community manager), we are going to write a new way of working to go your way, namely to lead cutting-edge technical topics with technical experts visiativ.
I'm going to talk about it with the technical boss of Visiativ to go in your direction.
I'll leave this conversation in my favorites and we're going to offer you some concrete ones. Lynkoa is the ideal place to exchange users who spend 8 hours a day on Solidworks or Catia and tomorrow in the 3DExperience. For some time now, there has certainly been a lack of animation on our side and we will correct the situation.
Hello fchosson and Clémentine
Thank you for your feedback ;-) See you very soon if I understand.
Kind regards
To follow up on what was said, we have to be honest, there is no animation at all since Clémentine is no longer the community manager of @Lynkoa
To all: I'm currently with Clem and we're preparing for the future to give lynkoa a new lease of life, content for users and exchange mechanisms with our experts. Your remarks have done us a lot of good and we hear them with great consideration.
By the way, to all those in the post, I think we'll get in touch with you quickly to better formalize your expectations:)
See you soon
clem is back!
