Hello
I would like to know the average consumption of a laser cutter.
In the technical sheets we can see Laser power: 2kW, 3kW or even 4Kw.
But at no time is the consumption of the machine indicated.
I do a study to have the energy consumption/kg of parts produced
If you have any other information on the subject, I'm interested; I can also share with you the information I already have
thank you in advance

Hello
Maybe see with a subcontractor in this field who certainly has the necessary information for your study.

See this laser cutting comparison link

Hello
On this link, you can download a pdf that talks a little about laser consumption.

Hello
The consumption of the machine depends mainly on the laser! There may be 500 w more for the rest of the machine.
After the power used will depend on the type of material and thickness, see this comparison:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laser_cutting#Power_consumption
@ .PL for me the power of the laser is not the main point of consumption of a laser cut. There is everything on the side that consumes (changing tables, moving axes, suction, etc...)

I agree with you Frederic; but it remains difficult to quantify,
The only way is to see with a subcontractor as Fred says.

See also this link that compares the CO2 and fiber laser
https://fabricationmecanique.wordpress.com/2012/06/08/a-lire-4/
know what type of material is going to be cut
to find out which type of machine will be the most suitable
as well as the size of the parts and thickness, the number of passes, the movement of the parts, etc.....
