Hello
I'm trying to make a constraint for a ball joint, with the true degrees of freedom and end up having the ball joint part completely constrained.
I couldn't find anything in the forum, nor on the net.
Thank you in advance

draw on each element the center of rotation with a sketch point and then put a coincident constraint between these two points.
you have in containte in the assembly the ball joint constraint
you can put the mini and maxi on the side
@+ ;-)
Hello
In addition to the coincident stress on the center of rotation,
you can add an advanced limit angle constraint on two ref axes
as in the attached image
Hello
You can simply try to put a coaxial stress between the rounded faces of your components.
Have a nice day.
I can't find the ball joint constraint on SW2012.
you make a mechanical constraint
gimbal
and if you need the axes of rotation you make them in construction lines that you hide afterwards
@+ ;-)
We can also add a zero distance between the male and female sphere, and add a stress AngleLimit of 0° to 30° between an axis of the fixed part and the cylindrical shaft of the male ball joint. The ball joint can then rotate in all directions in a 60° cone
