Converting an Inventor file to a step

Hello, would there be someone who can convert ipt and iam files to STEP for me to read on Solidworks.

Thank you

Hello

It's possible with the free version of Onshape:

https://www.onshape.com/

Just sign up, and it's a reliable site, as stated in my post here:

http://www.lynkoa.com/contenu/reponse-la-question-convertisseur-fichier-catia-en-fichier-solidworks-4

Otherwise, Datakit's CrossManager is also able to do this:

Thank you for your answer,

I just tried onshape but when I insert my pieces I only see a dot in the middle

I went to datakit but it's a paid software (after a few uses).

Thank you again but for now I'm stranded.

I have tested Onshape  several times successfully.

Maybe we need to try again.

Alternatively, it is possible to request a trial version from datakit:

Hello

Have you tried to open the files with solidworks? When you make file open in the list of file types there is iam and ipt (I say that but I haven't tested)

I tried to open the ipt with sld2015 but "this  version of inventor is not supported"

the iam he tells me to install Inventor 11

I'm wondering what version of the Solidworks inventor file can open...

Otherwise, on the Autodesk site it may be possible to have a demo version, 2 or 3 years ago I had made the request and I had received the installation dvd and a small guide, if it's not too much of a hurry it's worth it.

Hello @nicolas,

The people in the following link are familiar with Inventor, so potentially they can help you: http://www.lynkoa.com/directory/members?uid_2=&user_product%5B15%5D=15

You can try to send a PM to the first 10 if they can (and will!) convert these 6 files to you.

Edit: @nicolas, if you got this 3D on the internet, could you tell us this site, it could be useful to others.

So then, an ipt file is a part file, an iam file is an assembly file

I'm opening it in Inventor

Here in SolidWorks 2014, however, it will be necessary to repair a surface (left door I think), a simple cutout in the middle of the truck and a symmetry to be done :)
