Solidworks to Unity3D Conversion

Hello

I haven't found a post on this topic.
Does anyone know a solution to convert Solidworks ASM files to . AED or . FBX. It's to make simulations of moving assemblies under Unity3D and thus make cycle time estimates.

Thank you all.

Hello
In direct export, no.
While quickly searching on google, I came across this topic: unity3d - Is there any way to import solidworks files into unity as assets? - Stack Overflow

Hello;
There is a macro to convert Solidworks components to *. OBJ (from 2012 but still effective...)

But from memory Unity3D accepts . STEP (. STP).

Otherwise (But personally I don't like this type of "Online" solution) there is the converter:

(Not tested).

Why not use the Motion module in Solidworks, it wouldn't be easier?

Kind regards.

Hello

  • SW native solution, go through Visualize. Can export FBX (not tried).
  • otherwise Simlab paid solution after 2 weeks of simlab tests
  • and finally macro solution to export obj macro obj. The iterface of this macro is simple. You can adjust the precision. Watch out for the units.

Hello @Maclane

There is often a vocabulary problem for us
Motion = Animation
Simulation = Simulation RDM PEF

So if it's animation, Motion does it very well (for those who can use it) :grimacing:

Kind regards
