STL to solid conversion on creo2

Hello everyone, my problem is the following:

I need to import an STL file in Creo2 to perform a machining simulation but I can't convert this file into a usable solid.
The import options as imported in solid or surface are grayed out, I don't know how to do it?

Do you have a solution to offer me?

Thank you in advance

Hello

The stl is a format from a scanner so it is neither surface nor solid, it is d point mesh that must be reprocessed to try to remodel a volume or a surface.

On Creo 2 I don't know if such a module exists.

Some CAM software can directly create the machining program on the unprocessed STL.

Hello

STL is not usable on CREO 2.0

In this case, is there an application that allows you to convert this file before using it on Creo?

Not to my knowledge, for me it's really a format to avoid if there's work behind it. Otherwise the room can be used as a model to design a new one, but that's it.

Yes, I have the impression of that... Even taking the side on the model is not easy.

There are more than 300,000 facets... It's an obstacle course.

Thank you for your help

Hello

Normally, CAM software handles STL for machining.

I don't see the point of going back to Creo.

Yes, but I use the machining module on Creo... I tried to do a machining course... the cutter goes through the model as if there was nothing...
