Hello
I'm coming to you today about a solidworks/ Aurocad file conversion problem
Indeed, I work in a design office where most of my colleagues master solidworks (me too by the way), usually for the manufacture of parts, we send our subcontractors a STEP file, he is in charge of making all the production plans.
Today, things have changed and the production of all our parts is done in-house (a recently purchased workshop), which requires us not only to make the detail plans of all the parts but also to do it on the Autocad, since they only have that as software in the workshop for production.
I don't master Autocad so I make my plans on solidworks as usual, with specific layers for each detail (dimensions, nomenclature... etc), and standard sheet sizes (A0, A3, A4,...), and to make my job easier, I save in DWG format to switch to autocad, except that during the conversion I lose all the formatting I have on solidworks (Layer colors, line thicknesses, Scale... etc), which forces me to redo the work on Autocad, a waste of time each time knowing that I have a hundred shots to make.
I'm coming to you today to find out if you've ever had to work with both software at the same time and if you have any techniques to switch between the two software without redoing the drawing each time, the ideal will be to be able to:
1- Create one of the standard autocad layers that you can select during the solidworks/Autocad conversion to be able to find the formats you have already made on solidworks.
I've already started to develop this solution so don't hesitate to answer me so that we can exchange ideas.
Thank you in advance for your feedback.
