Hello
A subcontractor sends me files in autocad 3D, I would like to be able to reuse them on SW by going through some kind of conversion.
Does anyone have any idea of the method to use???
Thank you in advance

Hello
Tried opening directly with SolidWorks? It seemed to me that it was possible to open 3D dwg, unless it's only 3D dxf?
Hello
A priori it is possible to open them directly in SolidWorks:

Just drag your DWG or DXF into solidworks and check import as a new part with 3D curves: It will facetize your part I think.
Thank you for your quick response.
Indeed, it opens it correctly. What fooled me is the fact that it does a preview in autocad wireframe.
The problem if I'm not mistaken
the X;Y; Z are not the same between AutoCrad & SW
I had some problems about it
and not sure if importing parts with the feature works
We can easily recover from the surface but the solids and which of + is an assembly I'm less sure
@+ ;-)
