Is there a (simple) way to turn an assembly into a part with Inventor?

Under SW, just register as and choose sldprt as the output format. With Inventor, I couldn't find it.
The idea is obviously to avoid going through an export step and reimport (assuming that it works)...

"Create a new IPT..... Then just click on Derive open your IAM and simple just save it as an IPT. "

for once, it seems even more powerful than SW: by default it keeps the link with the original IAM.

So when you want to lighten a library, remember to break the link (right click on the iam in the navigation panel)
