Section in particle study with Flow Simulation

Hello.

I study a liquid flow in a room with Flow Simulation. I did a "Particle Study" to see where the particles accumulate and I want to make a cut in the result because the trajectories of the particles on the periphery hide the behavior in the center of the room.

It is easy to make a cut in the part but not in the paths of the particles.

Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

Hello

Indeed, the cut created on the parts is not taken into account in the particle study!

I tried cutting my starting face in half, and it seems to work, digging in!

Thanks to Coyotte for his contribution.

I had tried this solution but it doesn't work in case of swirling flow.

I'm trying an illustration this afternoon.

Hello

Unfortunately, it is not possible to cut the particle study as one would in SolidWorks Simulation using the "Edit Section" function.

The only solution left to us will be to ask to create the solidworks curves. Be careful with the number of trajectories because it can take quite a while... impressive...

We can then create a volume sweep.

However, I advise you to go to the SolidWorks customer portal to make an improvement request, it will always be better to see such a feature arrive than to use volume scans...

For your information, every year, around November 12th, SolidWorks opens a forum topic dedicated to SolidWorks World.

It is possible to submit requests for improvements. Then a vote is organised. At the end of the vote, the top 10 proposals will be presented at SolidWorks World and will (if feasible) be integrated into the next version of SolidWorks... for SolidWorks World 2014 this will obviously be an improvement for the SolidWorks 2015 version.

I therefore look forward to seeing you on November 12, 2013 for the submission of this request and the votes :)

Have a nice day
